With 5 years of solo experience but being new to club racing I knew I'd be on the steep end of the learning curve for my first season; But I didn't realize how much room for improvement I had until the end of my first coaching session with Scott. Installing the TraqMate hardware into my car took less than 15 minutes and with the feedback from Scott and the Data Aq software I was able to shave several seconds off my times between practice and qualifying. The Data gleaned during my hot laps for Qualifying assisted me in taking off a few more precious 10ths and showed me where to concentrate on making up time and where to "save" the tires and brakes.
In addition to the quantifiable time I picked up throughout the day, his instruction on racecraft and defensive lines helped to keep me from giving up a hard fought class position in the last laps of the race. This gained me my first ever trip to post race impound!
I'd strongly suggest "The Competitive Edge" for all club racers regardless of whether you're a rookie like myself looking to shave off driver development time or a veteran racer looking to improve by a few tenths and learn a few new tricks.

Even though I've had plenty of track time and lots of solo experience, I knew going into my first National race, as well as my first time at Road Atlanta, I was up for a challenge. I decided to enlist the help of Scott during this event to both help me with my "First National" jitters, as well as get me up to speed quickly at Road Atlanta.
Having Scott coach me during this event was one of the best decisions I've done during my short racing "career". With his instruction on lines, braking points, and Traqmate Data Aq software I was able to pick up the track very quickly and gain lots of time each session. The Traqmate software and Scott's analysis of the data, was invaluable in showing me where I was lacking speed, and which corners to work on during the following sessions.
With the race approaching, Scott coached me on racecraft, passing zones, and basically got me ready for the race. Even through race traffic and the motor on my car giving out, I was still able to pick up significant time throughout the race over my qualifying laps.
I would highly recommend Scott's services as they are invaluable in making you a better racer, faster.

Even the most seasoned track-day junkie can get completely rattled by an 80-car field at his or her first race weekend. To help take that next step, or to transform your existing race weekends, consider talking with Scott.
Scott can equip you with the experience and knowlege he has gained in years of successful club racing. He also Utilizes Traqmate data acquisition software so you can compare laps and figure out exactly where, and why, you were faster/slower on a lap or during a session. All the data is laid right out in front of you, and data doesn't lie.
Another aspect of road racing that tends to overwhelm a lot of people is the level of preparation and organization it takes to do it right. Scott can teach you how to get your tow rig, your trailer, your race car - your entire pre and post race ritual - organized and habitual. Believe me, it helps. As a former "toss it all on the ground and let's hope I can find that 12mm wrench later" guy, I can attest to this personally.
So if you're just starting out, want to get past that plateau you seem to be stuck on, or if you just want your race weekends to go "better", give Scott a call.
